You can only open a Basic Savings Account if you do not have any other Savings Account with Axis Bank. Please find below the different Basic Savings Account eligibility criteria required to open an account.
Entities eligible for Basic Savings Account
To be eligible for opening a Basic Savings Account with Axis Bank, an individual must live in India and should not already have a Savings Account with Axis Bank. In case there is an existing account, it needs to be closed before one can open a Basic Savings Account. Furthermore, once the Basic Savings Account is opened, the individual is not permitted to hold any other Savings Account in Axis Bank.

- Two latest passport size photographs
- Address and identity proof documents

- Only a single copy of the document is required if it is listed under both address and identity proof, e.g. Passport / Aadhar Card
- If your mailing address and permanent address are different, you must provide address proof documents for both
Documents for Basic Savings Account for a Hindu Undivided Family
- Copy of Aadhaar Card / Form 60 of HUF
- Declaration from the Karta
- Proof of identification and address of Karta as per documentation for individual
- Prescribed Joint Hindu Family letter signed by all the adult holders
Documents for Joint Basic Savings Account
- Address and identity proof documents for both applicants
- Address proof can be only of the first holder of the account, as long as it is supplemented by a relationship proof between both holders
