Complete guide on how to get a FASTag sticker instantly

How to get a FASTag sticker has become a frequently asked question since the government made it mandatory at toll plazas. Fortunately, the government has streamlined the process for obtaining FASTag easy for everyone. You can acquire FASTag sticker from toll plazas, bank branches or via online channels. Let us see how.

What is a FASTag sticker?

A FASTag sticker is an RFID tag pasted on the windshield of your car. Your vehicle will have a unique tag that is linked to your Savings or Current Account. When you drive through a toll plaza, the toll fare is directly deducted from your linked bank account. You don't need to stop at the toll plaza to manually pay your dues any more.

How to get FASTag for new cars?

You can get your FASTag sticker both online and offline. However, if you are wondering how to get FASTag in a day, the offline mode would be easier. The process of getting FASTag stickers is slightly different for new customers and existing customers.

1. New customer

You can get a FASTag sticker for your new car through any of the following methods:

  • Toll plazas: Want to know how to get FASTag at a toll plaza? The process is quite simple! FASTag stickers can be purchased at any toll plaza in India while driving through them. You need to submit an application form along with your RC (registration certificate) and a KYC document like a PAN card or Aadhaar card.
  • Online: Are you wondering how to get FASTag instantly? You can buy FASTag stickers online from NETC (National Electronic Toll Collection) member banks. The sticker will be delivered to your home. You can even buy FASTag from Axis Bank online through Axis Bank website or through the mobile app.
  • Bank branch: You can buy a FASTag sticker at your nearest Axis Bank branch.

2. Existing customer

When you buy a FASTag sticker for the first time, your FASTag wallet is created. If you already use FASTag for another car, you can use the same wallet for your new car. However, you still have to get a different sticker for your new car. If you are selling your old car, remove its FASTag sticker and close the wallet linked to it. You can transfer the balance of your older wallet to a new one.

How to stick a FASTag on your car?

Stick the FASTag on your car in just three easy steps -

  • Remove the adhesive liner from the sticker.
  • Paste the sticker on the windshield from the inside or stick it on the rearview mirror.
  • Gently press the sticker to affix it.

Tips for installing the FASTag on your car

  • Once you stick the FASTag on, don't try to remove it. Do not try to reposition your sticker, either.
  • Do not paste the sticker on dirty or wet windshield glass.
  • Do not stick the FASTag using cello tape or other supplementary adhesive. If the adhesive on the sticker is not enough, get your sticker replaced.

FASTag sticker position: Where to stick a FASTag sticker?

The best place for your FASTag sticker is on the top-middle of your vehicle's windshield, just below the rearview mirror. This particular position ensures maximum readability and easy scanning at toll plazas, thus reducing time spent on queues at tolls.
