Axis Bank, one of India’s largest private sector banks, has laid the foundation for its new corporate office, One Axis Kolkata, marking a significant step towards strengthening its presence in the Eastern region of India. The momentous occasion was graced by Chief Guests - Mr. Sanjay Bansal, IAS, Managing Director, The West Bengal Housing
Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) and Mr. Debashis Sen, IAS (Retd), Former MD & Chairman, WBHIDCO along with Axis Bank senior representatives - Mr. Amitabh Chaudhry, MD&CEO, Mr. Munish Sharda, Executive Director, Mr. Arjun Chowdhry, Group Executive – Affluent Banking, NRI, Cards & Payments & Retail Lending, Mr. Sanjeev Moghe, President & Head – Cards & Payments and Mr. Sattar Ali, Regional Branch Banking Head – East 1.
‘One Axis Kolkata’ will be located at CBD/110, Fintech Hub, AA-II, Newtown, Kolkata-700156 and is expected to be completed by 2027.
The new corporate office will serve as a central hub for the East and North-East regions and will accommodate various front-office and back-office functions. It will complement Axis Bank's existing flagship facilities in Mumbai and Noida and will focus on delivering a world-class banking experience to customers, while providing employees with cutting-edge infrastructure, an enhanced work environment and robust technologies.
This 24-story structure, set to be situated in the heart of Kolkata's central business district, will offer smart office spaces, top-tier amenities, and excellent connectivity to cater to the dynamic needs of both traditional and modern businesses. This expansion underscores Axis Bank's strategic focus on enhancing its presence and driving growth and innovation in the East and North-East regions of the country.
The new corporate office, One Axis Kolkata will adhere to the Indian Green Building Council's (IGBC) green building standards, reflecting Axis Bank's steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. The building will utilize sustainable materials and construction practices to minimize its carbon footprint, ensuring optimal energy and water efficiency. The efforts highlight the Bank's dedication to integrate ESG principles into its core operations and decision-making processes, ensuring long-term sustainability and responsible business practices. Axis Bank is the first bank in the Indian banking sector to constitute a standalone ESG Committee of the Board and is constantly strengthening its commitment towards ESG initiatives through projects like One Axis Kolkata.
